Column 1: Genre Odyssey

  1. Read a classic sci-fi or a modern dystopian novel.
  2. Dive into an epic high-fantasy series or a mythological retelling.
  3. Read a psychological thriller or a classic detective noir.

  5. Read a piece of historical fiction set in an era you find fascinating.

Column 2: Medium Mix

  4. Read a verse novel (a book written in poetry form).
  5. Explore an interactive story app or a digital-first novel.

Column 3: Critical Creative

  1. Create a curated playlist (e.g., on Spotify) that serves as the "soundtrack" for the book.
  2. Document your reading journey visually (e.g., a photo-essay or a short video review).
  3. Re-imagine a character or a key setting through your own art.
  4. Write an alternative ending or a prequel story for a character.
  5. Perform or record a monologue of a key dramatic scene.

Column 4: Wild Card & Winners

  2. A friend's favorite: read a book that a classmate loves.
  3. Explore a banned or challenged book to form your own opinion.
  4. Free Choice: Read anything you want for an entire week (replaces one day).
  5. Don't Judge a Book: Pick a book blindly, based only on its cover art.

Column 5: World Perspectives

  1. Read a book written by an author from a different cultural background.
  2. Read a book translated from its original language.
  3. Dive into Indigenous or Native American literature.
  4. Non-Fiction: read about an important social or global justice movement.
  5. Read a book that offers a strong counter-narrative to traditional history.
