Mental Health Resources

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being.

May Is Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Each year many of our students and families will face the reality of living with a mental illness.

During the month of May, Newport News Public Schools joins the national movement to educate staff, students, and families to raise awareness about mental health, provide support, and fight the stigma associated with mental illness. Presented below are links to Mental Health Resources for students, families, and staff.
